Well Fall is finally here. Leaves are beginning to change colors, the temperature is starting todrop and Thanksgiving is just around the corner.
It’s almost everyone’s favorite time of the year.
From spending time with family and friends, to eating way to much good food and remembering all we have to be thankful for.
Unfortunately, it’s not that way for everyone on E. Lancaster in Fort Worth…this can be a very lonely time of the year. Families have been ravaged by mental health issues, addiction, alcoholism or plain old poverty.
For these folks, it gets kind of hard to remember how to be grateful. Oh…there are still a lot of things to be grateful for, it’s just hard to see when you feel, you’ve sunk so low’
Well for the second year in a row now, BUILDING BRIDGES LRC has dedicated a day to help restore a faith based sense of gratefulness in this community. We will begin with a worship service. This year we will have a full band providing worship music, followed by a timely message from God’s word.
After the service we will be serving chicken and dressing, green beans, corn, dinner rolls, and then a nice desert.
All will be served family style. No serving lines. Our volunteers will bring the food to the table.
In other words, they will be our guests.
After the meal we will hand out some goody bags and some winter clothes.
You know sometimes the little things mean more than all the big stuff put together.
